I agree...he just wasn't a one and done guy. Does not mean he can't greatly improve his stock.
I got to watch a little bit of his play in AAU ball and he has the skill set. I think he definitely struggled throughout the season but I think there's multiple variables to that and definitely not all in his control (i.e. pressure to carry the team, injuries, etc.). I know he stayed home to go to State with Howland there, but I was always curious how he would be in Howland's offense.
And he was heavily recruited by Pitino and Calipari, so I don't get the notion that he just wasn't good. They obviously saw his potential and both recruit a high level. Unfortunately sometimes freshman play like actual freshman, especially in his circumstance.

Not so fast my friend. Sounds like Malik is transferring.

The reports are that he may be considering it. As of right now the thread title is accurate.

Word is, Malik did not complete his class work and may not be eligible to play for State. Does not sound good him coming back to Starkvegas.

UK would have figured out this whole not finishing classes stuff.
Good for MSU for having some academic integrity.

Baw, UK has a 1000 APR with the basketball team.

Just heard on Tom Leach show interview with Rivals writer. Word is going his academics are questionable and looking to be heading JUCO route. He stopped going to class because he thought he was a pro.

Wrong. He is enrolled in summer classes right now.

He would not be able to play immediately at JUCO. Would not make a lot of sense.

I just said UK would have had Malik in good standing. Just like UK has the rest in good standing. It was a compliment.

What? Yes, he would be able to play. JUCO does not have D1 transfer rules.

Exactly. Weatherspoon played like an AA last year and no one expected that. It just happens that way sometimes.
Honestly, we are going to have a damn good team this year whether or not Malik comes back, so at this point it's just icing on the cake for me if he does.
