Malik Newman’s father, Horatio Webster, declined to comment to ESPN — but multiple sources said Newman strongly considering transferring.

Doesn't have the chest.

Does he want to be a Rebal?

He should go play professionally in Europe for a year ... Unless he's just really wanting to fulfill his childhood dreams of NIT glory.

To be honest I don't care if he comes back or not. Gavin Ware said no one in the locker room really liked him that much. He's also undersized for his type of game as well. I feel like the talent we have coming in and what we have returning with QW will be very solid.

i agree about Europe, probably his best bet.
If his grades are not in order any longer, transferring to JUCO makes sense. Wouldn't have to sit out a year.

You guys should stop making shitty hires that get you in trouble, would probably lower your estrogen levels.

Update to the thread, Horatio confirms this morning Malik is returning to State.

I see both of those as a possibilities but also this could just be a power play with Howard to get somethings that he wants with how he is used. Hope he makes the right choice for the right reason whatever that may be.

Never thought this was in doubt.

Do you feel like Malik will be THAT much of a catalyst next season? I just don't. Terrible attitude and not a very good leader.
ETA: Kid my hit the floor next season for us and avg 20 a night and I'll have a nice slice of crow pie, but I still feel he's way overrated.

I think you are right. Hopefully wherever he goes he can stay healthy and raise his draft stock.

He dealt with injuries on and off over the season correct? This is a pretty big return for State if he doesn't transfer. He should be significantly better next season if he can stay healthy and has some help around him where it's not all on him.
I think people look at some of the freshman that have come through places like Kentucky that are automatically ready to go and that's not always the case (FWIW, UK fans are guilty of this too). He'll end up being a good player whatever he decides.

That is correct.
I agree...he just wasn't a one and done guy. Does not mean he can't greatly improve his stock.
