On Tuesday, the Tennessee Volunteers got in on the action, presenting redshirt sophomore TE Eli Wolf (brother of senior TE Ethan Wolf) with a scholarship.

Coach Butch Jones presented the younger Wolf with the paperwork just before the two brothers were set to square off in the Vols’ popular “Circle of Life” drill:

Good for him.

I know Gus usually gives any leftover scholarships to seniors at Auburn's kickoff banquet for the players.

I think it is a great way to say thanks to kids who bust their arse for free to the program.

Hey, Thanks for crippling yourself and for possibly taking 10-15 years off of your life expectancy. Those years , more than likely, would have been spent not remembering loved ones anyway.

Here's a 1 semester scholarship (tuition only) to show our appreciation

Auburn gives full one year scholarships if we have any left out of our 85.

Good men, those Aubies .

Was there a proposal to enact mandatory 4 year scholarships, or did I dream that?

There was. But it never really gained a lot of steam. Auburn only gives them to seniors so it's just a one off for us. And only if there are unused scholarships in the 85.

Good for Butch.

This reminded me of a Citadel story. When I was a Jr, a classmate of mine had a brother that was a freshman. While doing a ROTC pugil stick drill, by luck of the draw, the two brothers ended up facing off against each other. Well, the older brother had done this for years and ending up whipping his brother pretty good. He was standing over his brother with the instructor yelling at the top of his lungs, "KILL HIM!! KILL HIM!!" My buddy, being a bit of a smart @$$ replied, "Sir, Thanksgiving is next week, and if I kill him, our mom is going to kill me...."

Many pushups were handed out after that remark.

Nice. Eli is tough as nails and brings a nasty attitude to the TE position. If he had his brother's size he'd be one helluva NFL prospect.
