Seems LSU hit a high water mark with Saban and then maintained it with his players.

But since Saban left, they've slowly been reverting back normal. Now they're hoping to make a hire that returns them to the high water mark, aka hire another Saban. Shouldn't be too hard. Best of luck tigahs.

The two most successful coaches in LSU history (McClendon and Miles) were fired because they could not beat Bryant and Saban respectively. I'm not going to make a judgment call about what that says, but it definitely says something.

What is it about a dumpster fire that inspires such fear? Just be happy with your fat coach and his whoreish wife.

Interesting. How'd it go after they fired McClendon?

All we have to do is find a coach that can beat Saban on a regular basis. I'm sure there are plenty of those around.

They started beating Alabama again - right up until they hired another Bryant disciple.

I was talking to the Arky fan. I realize that Bama fans are swimming in superiority.

Dude... we didn't lose at Death Valley from the 60's until 2000. Lets keep the discussion grounded in reality, please.

It says Alabama is better than LSU. Miles didn't just get fired because he couldn't beat Bama. That's just one of the reasons (following 21-0). He got fired because his offense is not balanced and LSU was starting to lose worse and worse to teams in their divison. Arkansas had consecutive 17-point wins against LSU, Ole Miss crushed LSU last year and had won 2 of the last 3, and Auburn upset them after losing six straight home SEC games. LSU is last in the SEC in passing offense and ranked 119th overall in passing offense. They have averaged a 100+ ranking in passing offense over the last 5 seasons. Those are the reasons Miles has been fired.

so you're saying we'll return to still being annually a better program than Arkansas? i'm cool with that.

last i checked Saban wasnt coaching Arks last two LSU victories or Ole Miss last year. Not to mention that 08-10 were infuriating years with the same ole Miles not getting player ready for games.

The "Bama got Les fired" narrative is false. Les got himself fired. More than 5-0 skid with Bama.

What?

Archer beat Alabama, but we got rid of him because he lost to Vandy.

Curley beat Alabama, but we got rid of him because he lost to Southern Miss.

Dinardo beat Alabama, but we got rid of him because he lost to Houston.

So tell me about what happened after Bryant lost to LSU in '82...

Apparently it's all about beating LSU.

But let's be honest, it has always been all about winning the conference.

Bryant resigned after the season due to failing health which was accurate because he died in January 1983. Do you think Bama fired Bryant?

I asked what happened, that's all you said. Thanks for clarifying. So LSU did not start contending after firing McClendon
