Last year I would've said yes. This year? I have hope. Waaaay too much shite went down yesterday to be some half-assed attempt like they pulled with Chavis.

Chavis is looking like the smartest coach ever. He bailed out of a crashing plane, landed on a pile of money in a place where he is secure and can actually operate with talent that listens to him.
The alternative was to accept an insulting LSU contract that would now have him contemplating walking the streets holding up a sign saying "will coach for food." Furthermore, his defense seems to actually be improving, something LSU would have a hard time saying, two coaches removed from his departure.
What is odd is that LSU would sue and fight a court battle that they will lose over $400,000 for Chief, yet they seem to be able to buy out Miles, and pay Cam's recently signed buy-out extension too...which itself is a travesty.

The only way to handle a coaching change badly would be to fire a HC after 4 games and give the other candidates and schools a full 3+ months to get extensions and new contracts in place.
