Orgeron was supposed to bring LSU back to the days of dominant defensive lines and reverse all the terrible recruiting of Brick Haley
There were 4 DL ready by halftime in the game last night. The starting NT was playing DE because the starting DE and his backup were both out but that changed when the backup NT went out as well. LSU is now playing 3rd and 4th string guys in the two deep and has literally no one as backup NT as of now.
The 2017 class should've had at least 6 defensive linemen and O got two 3 stars from Alabama and an academically ineligible nose tackle.
So let's look at the presumed depth chart after spring:
RE: Rashard Lawrence, Frank Herron, Neil Farrell, Deondre Clark
NT: Greg Gilmore, Edwin Alexander, Tyler Shelvin
LE: Christian LaCouture, Glen Logan, Justin Thomas
As of last night:
RE: Glen Logan, Justin Thomas (O didn't even bring him to the game and brought and injured Lawrence instead)
NT: Greg Gilmore
LE: Christian LaCouture, Deondre Clark
Out: Rashard Lawrence (injured), Edwin Alexander (injured), Neil Farrell (targeting), Tyler Shelvin (ineligible), Herron (suspended)
That's 5 defensive linemen they'll have ready to for Syracuse if Alexander can't go. How the mighty have fallen.

It's truly pathetic
O drove out a bunch of players in the offseason and now we are left with a bare cupboard
It showed last night

Pathetic fanbase.
Signing day before the last, you signed TWO 5* DT.
You signed another last yearx he just didn't qualify.
What the hell else are you expecting? You aren't a top program.

I was expecting O not to suspend one of his players for half a year, get Shelvin eligible like every other SEC school can, and actually bring a healthy DE instead of an injured one

I've never once heard LSU called that until this thread.
LSU is 3rd place at best for that title in the SEC West alone

It's going to take some time to get the numbers back up and for his recruiting to take off. You'll probably stock up on DL this cycle. Kids will still go to LSU to play DLine. Be patient.

I can say confidently that is more than the number of passing touchdownss they had last night

Literally never.
LSU has had a total of 7 DL drafted in the first round in the entire 80 year history of the NFL draft. You've had 4 drafted in the first round since football started in your fanbase's mind - 2000.
