I didn't realize State cared so much about this game.

why?

why not hype up the games that matter to your program?

Lawrence might be badly missed, moreso because Herron should have been his backup. Herron is a fifth-year senior who has looked pretty good at times and Lawrence beat him out.

So, a redshirt freshman will start at DE and the first DE off the bench will be a true freshman.

The DL worries me the most about this game. Maybe the mad scientist can scheme around it.

Well OM is going to be out of commission for about a decade and Auburn is.....well Auburn. So we kinda need a new game to look forward to.

Oh please. You get several back including Arden Key. That is a nasty defense.

Key doesn't play DE. When the top two players at one position are both out, that's an issue.

Stop hyping up Herron like he was some big contributer. He's missed more games for suspensions than he's played in. When he has played he's been alright, nothing special. I'll take Glen Logan over him all day everyday

Lawrence will be missed - he is a key D lineman but since this is State and not Bama I am not that worried

Dude - you guys have beat us twice in 25 years and I know you know that but I went over to some State forums and you guys really think your going to win this game

I love it - live the dream and let the game be the tell of it all

Big headed StringRay is not on par with LsuDad but he does have some funny stuff going on just being his over sized self

You guys can't handle our rushing attach - if you can't stop our rush you can't win - breaking news !!!

If you stack the box we no longer try to force the run

good luck and save some beer to cry in !!

Herron isn't anything right now. Rumors are he's suspended for the first 6 games.

Herron was GOING to be his backup, that's what the OP was asking.

Since both may be out it'll be like UTC game where it's Logan and the 2 true freshman rotating there.

Herron is leaps and bounds better than Logan and it really sin't close. Logan did nothing against UTC. Herron has been rotating on the DL the past 2 seasons and had 20 tackles last year, 23 in 2015.

I think Lawrence and Herron were expected to contribute on the DL, but Herron hasn't played yet and Lawrence was injured in the BYU game and hasn't returned yet. I think all the others are true freshmen who weren't expected to make a big impact this early.

Are you asking if Rasheed Lawrence was expected to contribute before the season? Yes. He's our biggest player on the line and a beast. He was the talk of fall camp. Got hurt the first game.

I'm not "hyping up Herron" at all. The FACTS are that he's played a lot of games and could have been a dependable backup. If you think stating facts equals hyping, then I don't know what to say.

And if you would rather start a redshirt with two games' experience over a senior who's played at least two full seasons, you're an idiot. It's not like Logan is an All-American. He did redshirt last year.

Logan isn't close to as good as Herron has been and I'm not sure why anyone would argue he is.

And that's not saying Herron is some unstoppable beast, Logan just hasn't shown anything thus far. He wasn't good enough to play last year and he only got to play this year due to injuries and suspensions.

This the same Grantham that we put 400 yards and 29 pts on last year in the bowl game against L'ville? Yeah, we scared.

Oh ok. Looks like a newer version of Joe Lee Dunn. We have no chance.
