One of the things I never understood about Les was his insistence on recruiting QBs that were more suited to spread option style offenses and then implementing very little spread option into the offense. Seems Zach Mettenburger was the only recent QB that actually fit the offense they were trying to run.

The LSU fans have done more damage to their QB position. Franks de-committed. Their incessant whining about Les and running him off and has run off Franks.

Youre a dumbass if you want to fire Les. You have a young team with an in experienced Qb that is in the wrong offensive system. If you had Sean White you would be winning championships.

Welcome to Les Miles logic
ETA: Recruit some of the best dual threat QB's in the country to hand off and throw deep PA bombs or sideline routes. No option or designed QB runs.

i would say 80% of QBs now work out of spread style offenses.

People seem to think that means you can never learn anything else, but that isn't true.

However it takes time and we miss on so many QBs with no backups we have to go from Mett to True Sophomore.

Look at Alabama.

Parker was a Junior
McElroy was a RS Junior when he starter
McCarron a Rs Sophmore
Sims a RS Senior
Coker is a senior

the Only true underclassman to start was Bateman and how did that go?

I a pretty sure it was a combination of Florida being successful (record wise), Being the home state team, McElwain looking like a QB whisperer for 6 roided up games, and your QB position sucking and being wide open with Grier out for 7 games next year.

The last 3 NCs won at Bama were with slow pocket passer white guys...just the type that LSU should be recruiting for the offense they run. Even Sims at Bama was more of a pass first guy than a runner.

Bama also has coaches that make the qb play better than the actual qb

One of the main reasons he will be gone.

We also can't develop a QB. At all.

You are clueless and obviously don't follow Florida Gator Football Recruiting. He's been basically decommitting from LSU for a month now. He's been a frequent visitor to Gainesville over the past month. McIlwain has done a very good job recruiting him. He will be committing to Florida within the next few weeks.

There where better QBs because they were slow white guys.

They were older, smarter, and Bama put them in a good position to make high percentage throws.

Franks was thinking about decommitting before LSU lost to Bama. LSU's complaining about Miles had nothing to do with Franks decommitting.
