LSU peeps: How likely is it that your D-staff get sent packing with a new hire?

Is the belief that a new DC brings in his own people or that they (Alleva, Miles) will try to keep the staff mostly intact?

not likely at all, in fact probably no chance.....they are under contract now

It's a pretty good staff. Don't expect to see anyone leave but maybe the DL if he isn't happy.

Keep staff mostly intact. Raymond is a great recruiter, and a solid DB coach. New coach will have to coach LBs, or Brick will coach that position.

Everybody in all likelihood will stay.

Question for new DC is are you happy to look for a new job in 2 yrs when Miles gets sacked. Cuz new coaches def bring in new staff.

Les won't let Raymond leave. He's a monster recruiter and a great developer of talent.

Do y'all think that may be hindering a hire? Or is that all on Miles and Co. dragging their feet?

The staff is locked in for 4 years.

Really, you think Miles is just sitting around waiting for someone to call him for the DC spot.

Coordinators get fired all the time in college and the NFL. Do they usually fire the position coaches at the same time?
Seems to me that the position coaches largely teach technique whereas it's the coordinator that is in charge of choosing what schemes to implement and what situations to run them in. As long as the incoming coordinator isn't implement some radically different defensive schemes I don't know why it would be a problem. LSU isn't likely to change to a radically different scheme.
I'm far from an expert but I don't think it's necessary to jettison the position coaches in order to appease the incoming DC. Also, recruiting is a huge consideration at the college level and it's best not to rock the boat there unless there are serious concerns about their abilities to coach their positions. And if there were concerns, we shouldn't have extended their contracts.

Raymond will stay. Brick will pursue other options to make room for Orgeron.

Didn't UGA bring in a new DC this past season ('14)?
What coaches did he bring with him?

Cleaned house after Grantham left. Pruitt brought Kevin Sherrer at OLBs and he and Richt both interviewed multiple candidates before hiring Mike Ekeler at ILBs/ST and Tracy Rocker for DL
