i didn't want to post this on the tiger rant. this if for LSU fans. i'm watching the Penn St/LSU bowl game and am just wondering who's supposed to step up next year. most of the LSU games i watched last year the offense was brutal. poor OL play, not utilizing playmakers, Jefferson hanging onto the ball too long with his noodle arm, also he cannot run the option to save his life.

-who are the key losses and additions?
-what's the word on Jefferson? it doesn't look like he can progress that much more, i think he's just an average QB talent
-i think you lose some OL, not sure if that's a good thing or bad thing? Black was overrated last year i felt
-what's up with Sheppard? i felt he could have done big things last year but didn't get many touches.

i don't want homer responses just honest opinions and observations

There are plenty of scrimmage reports on the rant.

Charles Scott, Black, Lafell, Keiland gone

Ford, Shep to WR, Murphy healthy.

OL should be more experienced. . .but will still be poorly coached.

Best that we have ready to play.

He has SEC caliber talent, he just hasn't been coached.

what's up with Sheppard?
He is going to own at WR.

Alright, seriously guys.. I'm tired of hearing how improved Jordan Jefferson is. It's practice. Everyone does good during practice. And i highly doubt they would send out reports that JJ was doing bad. I don't want to hear how much he's improved until he's proven that on the field in a real game.

Yeah he'll likely catch 25-30 bubble screens this year.

Ok deal. I don't want to hear you guys saying how good Cam Newton will be when he hasn't proved anything in SEC play.

My observation from last year's LSU offense is that all of the problems centered around horrific offensive line play. Jefferson is somewhat indecisive and held onto the ball for too long anyway, and that led to a lot of sacks which killed many drives. The lack of blocking also made the running game non existant.

That's also why they succeeded so well against Auburn. Our defensive line was so god awful last year that we couldn't even do anything against LSU's offensive line, and their offense shined so much brighter.

Just my postulating though.

And i haven't said one word of how good he's doing in practice cause i know it doesn't mean anything.

Better to be thought a fool than to type your thoughts and remove all doubt.

No one has praised JJ, not even a little.

But it will be proven (that he is one of the best QBs in the Nation) on the field soon enough.

He sure beat the heck out of you plaineaglewartigermens last year, for the record.

LSU really got on track with the bye week and played great until Scott went down against Bama so our entire backfield was backups. Up until that point we were beating Bama and staying neck and neck. It wasnt til the fourth when everything started falling apart and we couldnt move the ball and Bama took over. In that 2 week span LSU looked like a different football team.

Because the measure of a good QB is the ability to complete screens and slants 60% of the time.
