First, is Guice back at full health?
Are the guys on the Oline who got hurt back?

I was a bit curious, so I took a look at who LSU has played and how they stacked up.

The only team LSU scored more than the average amount of points given up by any team was Syracuse.

Some other matchups.

Every other team that has played Florida scored more points on them than LSU.

Miss State has given up an average of 27 points against FBS opponents, while LSU scored 7.

Against FBS opponents, BYU has given up an average of 30 points.

So I am curious. Do any LSU fans think the offense is getting better via the eyeball test?

Is this an issue of Canada and the new offense or is it personnel?

Is Etling the right qb for his system?

Do you think this weekend will show an improved LSU offense or will it be more in line with past weeks where LSU scored less than the average of other teams against the same competition? (AU opponents currently average 13 points, a bit higher if you remove Mercer.)

Didn't look much better against Florida. They're just so limited at QB.

Doesn’t really matter about all that. Etling and co have to do just enough to get us in that 20 point range to win.

Defense will win this game for either side. Stidham isn’t coming and throwing for 300 and 3 touchdowns.

No. Our OL is bad. Our QB is limited. We lack explosive plays in the traditional running game.

Our best play right now is the jet sweep. Stop that and you stop LSU.

Not really, those numbers are skewed a bit by some garbage games. I guess what I was asking is does the eyeball test match the numbers or not?

Any updates on injuries?

I heard LSU had two true freshman on the line? I assume that was due to injury?

How did Guice look?

Not in their SEC games.

Yes. LSU doesn't have much quality at QB or OL.

I think there were 3 against UF after a few more injuries. Guice still isn't 100% and you can tell it in his first few steps.

We will get a few back from Suspension though. Herron will be playing in his first game of the year this weekend after serving his suspension.

If a team can defend the edge and avoid getting beat deep they will shut LSU down. LSU can't run it between the tackles against anyone, the line is just too bad. LSU beat Florida because they couldn't defend the edge.

I think Pettway is unlikely to be a factor in this game. He has looked bad this season, and I don't think one game off will be enough. Hopefully, we don't have to put Tega on our Oline.

No and he doesnt look close to 100% as of UF game.

No telling until later this week. But the OL got decimated in the UF game. We were down to 4 freshmen playing on the OL at one point against UF.

Etling isn't the right QB for any system really. They gave him a no vote of confidence in the 4th quarter with a 1 point lead. They tried to run the clock out with well over 7 minutes left in the game and UF had 3 timeouts still.

Etling had 3 passes in the 4th quarter and 2 of those were screen passes.

If we're going to blatantly admit our QB is a hindrance to our offense, then play the next guy...

Guice really won’t be a factor this year in any game. He’s solid, but not 100%. The respect factor is there but he just doesn’t seem healthy.

the short answer is this:
are they getting better? Yes.
Are they good? No

I think they played with great effort in Gainesville and the play calling was better but we just leave too many plays on the field.

Yikes.

You had four freshman starting on that Oline?

Honestly, even if Etling is great, that would have made it tough.

Brennan is the number two qb, correct? He seems to have tremendous talent, but looks a little small to be playing this year.

I mean, just watch the game and compare it to any other game. Florida was absolutely the best defense that LSU has played all year. No, we're not going to be able to jet sweep every team to death, but it certainly caught Florida by surprise.

you have to look a bit past the stat line to see why LSU fans are excited for the offensive progress.

Brennan could be a good one, but people calling for him to play this year are crazy. Personally, I'd rather not put a true freshman behind a line that can't block.

We aren't very good this year. We have really good cornerbacks and one really good LB. Pretty average everywhere else. Guice is not himself.

We're counting on some Tiger Stadium magic this Saturday.

We had 9 total pass completions vs. Tenn Chat

We scored 7 total points vs. Miss St.

We lost to Troy and scored 0 points in the first half

Vs. Florida on Saturday, our receivers had a grand total of 1 catch. Seriously. One catch by DJ Chark. No other receivers caught a pass.
