Liked it so much they copied it.
Can't get your first two choices, so you hire a coach that couldn't make it at another SEC school.

I think for the most part the job makes the coach.

LSU has the resources for many guys to be successful.

I can concede this. But successful is a relative term. LSU has the talent to regularly win 8 to 10 games per year. A lot of coaches could pull that off. IMO Coach O is good enough to maintain that. But it takes a special coach to get you over that hump and into 11, 12 wins and to knock off Alabama to propel you into Atlanta and beyond. That's not Ed O.

I agree, but what is realistic?

i think orgeron could do a good job.

I know he is not Saban/Meyer, but I think those types are rare.

I pray to God Coach O does well for us, but I will have zero confidence.
