I'm on the side of basically any Auburn fan...but your title is really awkward and grammatically incorrect. Try "LSU won't contend for the West, let alone win the SEC".
A helpful tip from the interwebs:
It is roughly synonymous with the terms "not to mention" or "to say nothing of", except that those terms require a change in tense for the following action.
The sentence "I wouldn't go near a stingray, let alone pet one" implies that the speaker would stop far short of even being in a situation to do what follows the "let alone" clause. They wouldn't go near a stingray, therefore it is out of the question that they would pet one.
Having dispensed with that, 2014 LSU isn't playing this season...and neither is 2014 Auburn thank God. Making definitive statements about what a team will or won't do based on last in year makes it pretty difficult for Auburn fans to feel optimistic.
