They saw the writing on the wall that daddy A&M was going to kick the shite out of them this year. The only move left was to force UF to reschedule the game to Nov 19 so that LSU has a built-in excuse for the imminent loss.

Very little doubt about this.
What's going to be interesting is what happens when UF comes in and beats mouthy LSU and then LSU has to come to Kyle Field on a short week.
