Your governor isn't threatening to "take football away". He just said that if you all don't raise money to sustain university operations that there would be no way that the football team would be eligible academically.

Which would completely negate the fact that it is a revenue producing sport.

Sounds like the administration before this guy totally phucked you all. Had a surplus heading into the last administrations term and left you all in deep shite.

He's just a dumbass Governor. He thinks his people will believe he is the one to "save" LSU football and the University. I feel sorry for the good Louisiana people.

I read up on TD and most posts were harping about how football was a revenue producing sport which is highly irrelevant if the campus can't afford to educate your players.

He is talking about lesser schools cutting football... i.e. northwestern, nicholls, ulm etc....lsu will still exist therefore our fightin tigahs will be on the field...

Even with budget cuts are you gonna tell me 83 kids cant find a class to get into??
Especially when they are the first to pick classes out of the entire student body...

Looks like you are the least educated here

yup. politicians hate surpluses. spend 'em fast as possible and then scream like bitches when they find themselves short. this cycle is repeated over and over and over again. while Louisiana is happening now it's happened everywhere I have lived. unlike the usa, states can't deficit spend.

Bobby Jindal actually cut the budget buy 26% and bragged about it in the first Presidential Debate. No other Gov. cut spending that much. LA struggles when the price of oil stays down. We don't have a diversified economy or a stable enough tax base. It was this way in the 80's. We have a history of corrupt politics but Jindal pasted laws to reform LA. We are better because of him.

When the damn Arabs decide to let the price of oil go back up things will be hunky dory for us.
