Nov. 14: Arkansas at LSU (-1.5)

They give you 3 points for being at home...

The minus sign means LSU is favored.

what he was saying was that the line is less than 3, and you "get" 3 for beign at home. That game is in BR. So the arkansas poster was insinuating that LSU isn't really that much better, if at all, than arkansas, and are only favored due to playing at home.

Some teams are consistently overrated with the spread. "Name" teams where the betting publics perception would view them as better than they actually are. Seems like it might be the case here.

Vegas just wants even money on the games so that they win no matter the outcome.

We know. What he's trying to say is that if it wasn't a home game for us then Arkansas would be favored. At a neutral site arkansas would have the advantage

Jfc do you enjoy constantly bashing LSU? Vegas is usually pretty good regardless and we're gonna be fielding another one of those monster teams like we did in '11 so good luck with your theory. Plus I'm positive we'd absolutely destroy mizzou in Death Valley so...

So you get 3 points from Vegas if you are playing at home.

quote:

At a neutral site it'd be Arkansas at -2.5

-1.5+3.0=1.5 Not sure where you get -2.5

But, if your logic is that Vegas offers 3 points to home team, Arkansas would be favored by 4.5 if it were at Arky?

History tells us Arkansas would be favored by 17 at home.

Yes, you are. The Auburn game started out as push but it quickly went to Auburn being favored by 2.5.
