The Brennan kid should be pretty good or at least that's what I've heard. Scott from Zachary may be effective for LSU in a couple years as well. He was a 3* if I remember correctly.

Not a lot of people will mention Scott because of his height but the dude absolutely tore up things in (good competition) high school. I dont think he's a fit with how we've been running the offense but if we started to take more snaps out of shotgun I thin khe could be a successful college QB. The QB battle in 2018 will be pretty tough to call between a rSO. Scott, rFR. Brennan & rFR. Narcisse.

no one will agree with you but you are correct.

this board is too entrenched in lsu has terrible qb's groupthink. there is some validity to it but people don't even do their research anymore.

Neither Dobbs nor Harris "scare me". I think Harris has more natural arm talent than Dobbs does, but both are pretty wildly inconsistent with their throwing.

Dobbs is bigger than Harris and can do more inside running and runs more like a RB than a WR, though.

How fricking stupid are you?

They are actually just about the same exact size too. Harris was even listed as being heavier last year.

Yeah, kind of wondering what elite quarterback Freeze has recruited at OM.

Wallace? A Transistion guy from ASU
Kelly? A troubled transfer
Patterson? Wake me when he lives up to his pre college hype.

So Why are you asking this question of LSU?

I try. Numbers can tell whatever story you want them to, but there are times when narratives completely overtake a wide set of data that tells a pretty clear story.

Dobbs is better than Harris, but Dobbs seems to get a bit extra love and Harris gets a bit extra dogging, which leads to this mindset that Harris is awful and Dobbs is really good........when in reality Harris was young and inconsistent while Dobbs was a year older, a bit bigger and less inconsistent.

Wow - I'll say, that shocks me. I would have NEVER guessed that.

Chad Jones
Odell Beckham Jr.

Dobbs also has nearly as many rushing yards as both USC running backs and they are being touted as "great running backs"

He has more than Bama's entire core too. Don't forget that.

I've heard them described as talented and very good, but not "great".

Also, those guys both ran for 900+ yards and 5.3 and 6.5 YPC, significantly more than Dobbs. Their 3rd running back, Madden, averaged 5.3 YPC.

Pretty big difference.

The similarities between the two would make a long list.

i dont care what people are listed at on their respective websites. Brandon Harris is not as big as Josh Dobbs. Not talking strictly height.

eta: im speaking about last year. Harris did put on good weight this offseason so he's probably closer to dobbs build, though i'd guess still not quite there.

That is one thing about Miles. He doesn't throw his players under the bus

Jefferson completes a last second pass to get LSU within range of a long field goal against Ole Miss, the LSU sidelines are in a completely unprepared uproar, yelling, running, trying to figure out what to do because they thought the game of was over, and then the clock runs out with JJ looking over and trying to get directions from the staff.

What happens next? Blame JJ for not clocking the ball. Les did not take responsibility for the three stooges bedlam on the sidelines and did indeed blame JJ. That is when I finally had it with Miles, Mr. "we finished second."

Brandon Harris : 6'3'', 206 lbs

Josh Dobbs : 6'3'', 207 lbs

Jalen Hurts : 6'2'', 209 lbs

All per 247 sports. Almost identical.

LSU has had bad luck with QB recruiting. Perrilloux did not pan out due to decision made off field. We will never know if he could have developed into "elite" but many though he could.

Another potential "elite" recruit is Zach Lee that showed up on campus, went through part of fall practice and was showing promise. Then signed a fat MLB contract and off he went.

These two factors really hurt the QB development ARC for LSU and it has in fact been frustrating. However, hopefully this is the year the we begin to see these issues begin to play itself out ( crossing my fingers on B Harris development...)
