Not in pass blocking. We've had injuries but they weren't good when everyone was healthy either.

Pocic gets moved to rt tackle and fans act like ed o is a genius, then gets moved back to center the next game. They are all going to have to play their best games.

And yes, fellow LSU fans, get over that 8 or 9 in the box shite. Bama had 7 in the box nearly all game.

lol, bama rarely had more than 7 in the box last year, we didn't have to

Box numbers are football novices. Bamas run fits involved 8 guys 90% of the time. Ole Miss had 7 in the box last week several times but used the Nickle over the slot WR in run fits a good bit.

It's very inconsistent due to constant injuries and shuffling people around to fill holes. Some plays, they're outstanding, while other times, they allow defenders to comr in completely unblocked due to miscommunication or missed assignments. When they're on, though, they're one of the best units in the country. Hopefully, they'll be at their best against bama, but I think they will struggle in run-blocking.

what's the weakness in your defense? because this coaching staff will be going at it all game, instead of attacking your strength.

having said that, I respect Alabama's defense and I acknowledge that Alabama has been mauling offenses with 6 or 7 in the box, depending on how many wr's are spread out.

it's gonna be different than usual. we won't have our way all game long, but I don't expect this offense to get mauled all game long either.

Well said. Everyone was moving forward at snap. Safeties never took the first step back. Combined with LSU sending receivers streaking down sideline it was easy to man up to prevent any deep passes.

We will have a better game plan. Just not sure how we stack up until we line up. Bama has a damn good front 7 and we really still are a down hill running team despite changes. Hopefully it's a good game.

If you have problems at RT you won't have time to throw with Tim Williams and Ryan Anderson coming after your QB.

We don't ever run an empty set formation and hardly ever throw to RB's in passing situations. Williams will draw consistent RB help and get chipped by a TE if he lines up on the strong side.

LF7 was ran into an 8 man front 5 times and a 9 man front just once the entire game

that is about the number of times he got the hand-off without being hit.

We tend to struggle on the opening drive of games. Other than that, I don't know that we have any flaws on defense. The only issue I've seen has been them consistently giving a good bit of cushion to opposing wideouts off the line of scrimmage and occassionally not accounting for the back out of the backfield, but overall, this defense has been nothing short of phenominal. They've been tough to run on and nearly impossible to pass on. They've successfully corralled running qbs. I think Bama will struggle offensively.

This will likely be a defensive struggle decided by turnovers, special teams play, and clutch time penalties or reviews.

7 in the box doesn't change the fact that safeties were hitting LF7 at the LOS.

LSU had no passing threat and allowed Bama DBs to tee off. Not to mention Bama had the best front 7 in the nation.

It was honestly a marical LF7 made it to the LOS and even had positive yards.

Right, we called all the right plays last year. Miles made Bill Walsh looked like chopped liver.

There isn't an OL anywhere that can handle the Bama pass rush. Fact.

Definitely the secondary. We are 35th in pass defense. 1st against the run. I have felt all year that we were more vulnerable to the run than last year but how do you get better than #1?

Our secondary has given up 2 400+ yard passing games but I guess when you add it all up 35th in pass defense is not terrible. I think it's because of the incredible pass rush. Etling won't have long to get it out of there.

Kinda like that year you met the Buckeyes in the NC. They had ZERO chance........

The odds are definitely against LSU, but much stranger things have happened.

We haven't put the same bunch of guys on the field twice this season due to injuries. I think all will be back by Nov 5th.

They have good size and agility but they can get fooled on schemes. Wisc totally confused them. Ironically, that is what Aranda is doing to our opponents and I guarantee ole Nicky is schooling up on that.

The thing that will be different this season is that in the past Miles would just draw a line in the sand and say we coming over so try and stop us. Orgeron and Ensminger are not that dumb. I am sure they will look for some edge or weakness they can exploit or use to reduce the rush.
