And I ask because so many of you said Steele's defense is always awful in year 2....but it looks to be quite the opposite.

LSU's defense is 2016 was extremely elite. If you're ranking the 4 defenses,

2016 LSU
2017 Auburn
2016 Auburn
2017 LSU

From what I have seen so far this years AU defense is much better than anything Aranda has produced at LSU. Not saying 2016 LSU wasn't good but I don't think they are in the same league as this years AU defense.

LSU allowed 16 total touchdowns in 2016

I'm well documented saying that Steele is not remotely bad as the rant made him out to be, but this thread is dumb af. It's a laugh riot comparing the careers of the two right now.

Also Aranda does deserve a little bit of criticism right now, but Auburn's offense and special teams are FAR superior to LSU's right now, which we know helps make for a better defense.

This defense sucks due to draft/graduation attrition, Orgeron, and injuries. If Lawrence, Alexander, and Herron were all playing it would look a lot different. Would also help if Key wasn't a fat selfish slob. Auburn has some outstanding defensive linemen and LSU is severely hurting there.

I'd take either tbh. I think Aranda is very good but his lack of adjustments so far this season have made me change my opinion on him. I think Steele benefitted heavily from Muschamp's year of teaching in 2015 and I think Aranda benefitted from Steele's teaching before as well.

We'll crumble to UGA and Bama. Fact.

Congrats. You beat a team that ran it between the tackles every single play last year.

I'm not all that interested in bashing LSU while they're down

But all I've heard is about how they have by far the best coordinators in the country, and anyone who thinks otherwise must be a fricking moron
