Honest question.

Through 3 games you have given up 450 yards and 5 TD's in the 4th Q. This includes 249 yards/2 TD to MSST and 131 yards/2 TD to Syracuse.

This comes out to #115 in opponent 4th Q points/game.

In 1 more game total(4 games) other West contenders are sitting at:

A&M #55
Alabama #56
Ole Miss #79

Is 4th Q defense a concern going forward?

Our second to worst defense under Miles embarrased your first round pick Heisman winner and top 10 offense.

Not worried.

Miss st had one of the best QB in the country pick us apart in the 4th quarter because we were being way too conservative.

Auburn did it with all of our backups in.

Syracuse, welp no answer here

Im not worried about our defense right now. I'd just like our starting free safety back

you shouldn't be. if the game saturday was indicative of how the aggies play all season you'll beat them by 28.

LSU has had such a big league through 3 quarters, it hasn't mattered.

LF is leading the nation in rushing and he has barely played in the 4th qtr.

I think that there has been a letting off of the gas, in some ways. Bower got hurt on like the 3rd play last week and Key got tired. Our two starting DTs played almost every snap last year. They are actually getting MORE rest year.

It is the combination of a young team letting off the gas, playing to just win the game, and the opponent being desperate.

LSU will be fine. Have only given up 3 points in the first half all season. Have left something like 4 TDs on the table because of penalties having them called back - penalties that did not create the play.

Not worried.

Honest answer, no. Usually when winning, opponents will throw the ball to catch up. I was worried a bit for Miss St but that is not a shot a the defense but more at Les. If you would watch that game, you would see a big difference in play call after LF gets the TD in the 3rd quarter. If you wouldn't get super conservative on both sides the ball, it's not that close. Very similar to Syracuse too.
A 2 score lead in the 2nd half is not what it was in the 70-90's.
So just to circle back with my answer, no, not worried about the defense. Just worried about our coach (who I am a fan of) getting conservative too early.

Truth is I am a bit worried. The MSU game is the only "excusable" in that the O stalled completely for long passages in that second half and it was the first game on the road against a capable opponent.

Fat Bert ran it all over you. LF7 is going to rape your souls in Death Valley. Les ain't gonna take a mercy knee either on the 1. LF7 will stick it in again just for Chavis. So keep talking shite.
