We now have exactly 85 scholarship players, so what does that tell you? We actually needed some attrition this year.

DE Sione Teuhema to Southeastern Louisiana wasn't worth a shite

Teuhema was a good pass rusher at DE and would have made a good Buck linebacker in the new 3-4 system. But he had discipline issues and was ushered out quietly. Even if he had stayed, he'd be backing up Arden Key and would be in a battle with true freshman Sci Martin for the second string.

Could we use him? Sure. Do we need him? No.

Our transfers are not starting quarterbacks?

Nothing but processing going on here. At least that's what they call it at Bama. Not everyone can play unfortunately...

Losing four wide receivers has created a bit of a depth issue at the position.

There isn't a depth issue. The younger WR's are actually increasing the quality of the depth and freeing up scholarships. 10 WR's on a team that is going to establish the run game every week isn't much of an "issue".

It will be interesting to watch Maea's demeanor now that Sione and Trey are both gone.

And, honestly, we're all seeing the millennial generation's effect in football recruiting with some of these. Think about a HS superstar mixed with a bit of millennial......that's one entitled kid.

This hits most elite recruiting programs. Someone has to sit the bench.

I didn't see where the OP claimed LSU had been losing starters. Do LSU fans know what the word "depth" means?

Sure, I guess that is a minor concern. But Sione and Trey did it to themselves, if that helps Maea cope.

Outside of diarse, teuhema, and Quinn, we didn't even lose depth. We lost grist for the mill.

We are at 83 but thinks for your concern. Those two we are short won't keep us from running for over 250 fifty on that soft arse defense. But have fun racking up sacks on the bottom feeders on your schedule.

The only ones that would have played are Tyron, Trey and Diarse.

Tyron- left because he's not a vertical wideout, he's a possession receiver all day. He'll be a beast at Okie State.

Trey- left because he felt like he deserved more playing time but he dropped two 3rd down passes against Bama in '14, either would have sealed the game.

Diarse- Another depth casualty. This is the only transfer that I wish we could get back. Plays a lot like Anquan Boldin. He'll star at TCU.

Every other player transfer was a casualty of depth where they weren't going to see the field for a long time. That happens when Juniors decide to stay for their senior season and you being in top 5 recruiting classes every year.

And I didn't see where in the OPs question he mentioned anything about pigs. So what are you doing bringing that stench into the thread?
