It will be glorious when he beats his old team in TS and the whole DL, male cheerleaders, band, and about 30 students carry him off the field

Oddly enough, I'd say that sounds like a bad idea. Not that Orgeron couldn't do well enough (expectations adjusted for program chaos) but LSU would do well to retain him. He's a good assistant. It might be hard, however, to convince him to step back down to a lesser role if LSU is bound and determined to hire somebody else regardless of whatever success Orgeron achieves at interim.

He's gonna go on to beat everyone but Bama on the schedule and then they will hire him full time.

It's a valid concern. On the other hand, to look at it more positively, nearly a decade has passed since his last HC stint. It's entirely possible he's learned a lot since then and could actually be good enough to be LSU's coach of the future.

Just so long as y'all avoid the Clay Helton fallacy, anyway.

Edit: Just remembered his interim stint at USC, but that hardly counts when talking about an HC ensconced in the program and shaping it into his own image.
