8-4 vs 7-5 Bowl games aren't a clear representation of teams.

well it's not equally as meaningless considering you're referencing LSU vs Bama and I'm referencing LSU vs aTm. But I see your point.

And let's not forget that Chavis was the ONLY reason LSU didnt get run in the 2012 game at Kyle. That game could have easily been 28-0 before LSU crossed offensively if not for his unit making key stops in LSU territory and holding us to FG attempts.
then I assume we will see similar results from aggy this year? Since Chavis was the sole reason?

In 2012 he was, in 2013 a much better LSU offense exploited a bad defense. That being said, everyone exploited our defense in 2013 and only Chavis was able to keep Manziel from keeping it close. Bama and Auburn got lit up that year and Mizzu didnt go ahead until 3 minutes left in the game despite Manziel playing with a broken hand.
Chavis was, literally, the only DC in two years who even limited Manziel let alone shut him down.

players are meaningless, amirite?

And lost in the hoopla of the superhuman runs he made that day is the fact that Chavis held Cam Newton to by far the worst passing game of his college career. 86 yards and a pitiful 4.5 yards per attempt.

so you're saying we will see similar results for aTm this year? stop avoiding the question

Who has said our defense will be as good as his at LSU? Who has even said ours will rank higher this season?
The fact is our defense doesnt need to be as good as LSU's because we won't regularly waste good defensive efforts. We play offense at a high level. How many games do you think the 2014 LSU Tigers win if they had our defense? MAYBE 4? The fact that we won 8 games last year is a testement to how hollow the "Chavis wont be as good at A&M" argument rings to us. We don't believe he will produce top 10 defneses here.
The fact is our defense was ranked in the mid-50s in YPG and around 30th in PPG in 2012 and we were a couple missed FGs away from winning the SEC West and finished 5th in the country. Our defense doesnt need to be great.

you should see some of the shite they say about beating LSU on their board.
they want it so fricking bad. It's awesome.

Nobody has ever said that, not even on fricking Texags.
You're reaching brah

I'm doing some simple yet critical thinking. Chavis is the only reason for so many of LSU's successes, according to you. So if he's so good that he's the only reason for these successes, why wouldn't that translate to aTm?
in other words, I'm not reaching. I'm calling you out for reaching.

They'll be even better results. Manziel will have zero yards against Chavis' defense this year. Bookmark it.

Chavis is the only reason LSU won certain games during his tenure, if you are going to deny that you'll be the first LSU fan I've seen do so. 2009, 2012 and 2014 would have been disasters if not for his defense carrying the team. For as much shite as he gets for 2014, that was a last place team with an even average national defensive ranking.
LSU fans have been so spoiled with great defense over the last 12-13 years that they kick and scream about every goddamn thing, and yet you look up and there is often a single digit next to their defensive ranking.
He's not going to have top ten yardage and PPG defenses at A&M unless something very unusual happens. Right now, LSU has more defensive talent. LSU doesnt regularly force teams out of their offensive gameplan to play a track meet. LSU's opponents wont record nearly as many garbage yards and points because they consistently sit on smaler leads in favor of shortening the game. Les Miles isnt throwing deep up 35 on SMU, he's running the ball to get the shite over with.
Is that strategy superior? Clearly many would say yes, but the fact is A&M can win a game just as convincingly as LSU giving up twice and many yards and points.
