I could see it going either way.

LSU could be as healthy, prepared, and focused as they could possibly hope to be...

Or

LSU could take a step back from where they were vs OM due to sitting around another week. They could struggle to execute, get back up to game speed, or struggle conditioning wise come 4th quarter.

What say the rant ? Advantage or Disadvantage ?

Extra bye didn't help them last year.

Any bye vantage is mainly due to normal recent bye. Rested, healed up (esp LF), more time to self evaluate/fix issues, study opponent, scheme, add wrinkles, prep, etc.

Extra bye due to storm probably has no significant impact on this game.

Same bye advantages for Tide too.

Probably an advantage but not gonna act like they would if we'd had 2 byes. The hurricane didn't conspire against us.

Alleva sure sees it as to their advantage, since he was a crying baby about making sure he got in his extra bye week.

Disadvantage.

Playing at Florida would have given this team a very valuable big game experience they could have used going into Bama.

LSU was hitting on all cylinders vs OM. They had their bye, and was healthy and clicking.

I think yet another bye is more likely to lead to a slow start, and conditioning issues.

If I'm LSU I want Bama in TS the Saturday after that OM game. JMHO

Someone has not done their homework. Your statement is incorrect in that you named the wrong AD.

I don't like the first bye but this last one I think can only be beneficial. Extra time for Fournette on that ankle. It's not 100%. Also allows some banged up guys on the OL time to heal up. That's the matchup that troubles me the most going against Bama so we need our best guys out there as healthy as possible.

I also trust this coaching staff to utilize extra time scheming and implementing that into a gameplan tailored for Bama. The previous coach did very little of this. Past byes under Miles are not an indication of how this staff will utilize their time. The bye is a plus for all the obvious reasons.

Will take them a quarter to adjust to the speed of the game. In addition to the time off, the OM bullfighter defense didn't help in this regard either.

Seems like LSU has had three byes. This is the weirdest season.

I don't like the bye week before Bama. Never have. It should be scheduled the week after the Bama game in my meaningless opinion.

It's always a physical game and we tend to give our all that game and the next couple of games, we play like shite.

There will be nothing slow about this game from either team. O knows how Kiffen rolls so he will attempt to keep up tempo and challenge Bamas D in the same way.

Will be a much different style than old school ball like 2011

I don't think it's really that big of an advantage but I do know any extra time for LF goes against whatever team he is rested for, I think the ole miss games proves this
