Looks like it will be old school football in Athens this weekend

It's been pretty bad weather in Georgia for most of the week and is expected to rain all day tomorrow and Saturday. Both teams will likely stick to their run game to avoid turnovers. I had Georgia winning but if both teams are forced to go one dimensional then I see Alabama pulling it off in a low scoring game.

One of three legit "toss ups" this week. I went with Georgia in Pick Em, fwiw.

But if the game has to be won through the air, advantage Georgia. In a close one, it may come down to throwing the football some.

Wut? Georgia is going to try to win with their running game regardless of the weather.

This is a common misconception about football. In fact, a wet field favors the passing game. Now, if it's muddy or pouring rain, that's different.

So you mean to tell me Georgia has to rely on Nick Chubb and that nasty o-line? Yeah I'm still picking them. I like him more than I like a combo of Derrick Henry and Kenyan Drake. Alabama typically has the best tandum of backs but this year is a drop off from years past.

Maybe. They get Scarborough back Saturday and he could be a difference maker in that offense. He could be a bust too, but he was second only to Fournette at his position in the 2014 recruiting class.

One of the things to watch is the bama oline in this game. They have been slow off the ball, but it could be a different game than in the past couple if they can figure out how to gap block better.

I don't see an away game between the Hedges as the place to suddenly fix their problems. That's what the rent-a-wins are for. Those issues should have been fixed against Monroe but I left that game feeling worst about their o-line.
