University of Alabama baseball coach Greg Goff informed up to 10 players their scholarships would not be renewed, a violation of NCAA rules, The Tuscaloosa News has learned. According to NCAA bylaw 15.3.5.2, institutions cannot revoke or reduce a scholarship because of an athlete’s ability, performance, physical or mental condition. According to NCAA bylaw 15.3.4.3.1, an institution may not set forth an athletically related condition that would permit the institution to reduce or cancel a scholarship if the conditions are not satisfied.

After the bullshite effort he was given this year by a collective group of pussy losers who very literally attempted to sabotage the season with their horseshite, it wouldn't hurt my feelings if he yanked their scholarships and publicly told them to frick off.
You know what you're right, let's let him get us in more NCAA trouble.

Players sabotaged the season?
And their parents. Intentionally causing a bunch of turmoil and stirring up shite - constantly - because of some new rules they didn't like and feelings getting hurt.

Give me a break. NCAA will not punish the institution because a coach said he was doing something he doesn't even have the authority to do. Sissy.

This makes sense. Goff is a really good coach and for them to be that bad it's likely there were behind the scenes stuff going on

Lol, you know the best part about all of this? He's about to get canned whether you like it or not.

I love how LSU fans are white knighting for Alabama's baseball coach. Not transparent at all....lol

Maybe ULM can pool the funds to bring him back to North Louisiana.

He made Louisiana tech relevant for the first time in 30 years. I'm not kidding when I think it's bizarre to fire a coach after one season.
With that said I didn't know about the scholarship controversy. I don't think it's a fireable offense, but a bad move on his part nonetheless

Truth is truth. Sorry you don't like it. If he's canned, it will be in large part due to the collective effort of a group of losers and their loser parents.

I've been saying #FireGoof for months.
He's a shite coach and apparently doesn't know the rules. Get that amateur out of here

There's a lot more to the story than just his record. This guy has pissed off everyone he comes into contact with and apparently has a God complex. There's allegations of shady dealings with program funds as well as the scholarship fiasco. Also, his record at Campbell was vacated by the NCAA for academic violations. He recruits the Jucos so hard because he has alienated so many high school coaches. This guy was a huge mistake and Battle's parting gift to Alabama. We've got to cut our losses now before this guy completely destroys the program.

Seriously? He did a great job at Louisiana tech and the school prior. Give the man a second at least
I agree. He was terrible, but the man deserves more than one year.

I agree that firing a coach after one season is extreme but given the combination of the season going in the toilet, the coach threatening to nix several scholarshipped players, being openly disrespectful to alumni, former players, and friends of the program, and a person close to the program writing an open letter urging the AD to fire the head coach is a stong indictment of the program's future under the current head coach. It's hard to justify canning a coach after one season but this seems like an extraordinary circumstance.

revoke and not renew are two very different things, all schollies are one year deals and do not have to be renewed, revocation during a school year is a different issue.
