Winning 11 gsmes in a single year is a notable achievement, particularly in light of the the fact that the 11-game regular season didn't become mandatory for all Divison 1-A schools until 1973.

How many HCs in your school's history have attained that lofty plateau? Here's AU's list:

Pat Dye
Terry Bowden
Tommy Tuberville
Gene Chizik
Gus Malzahn

IOW, every AU HC in the last three decades. Not bad.

ETA: Actually, beav, I do know how to spell Tuberville...but the autocorrect on the wife's iPad doesn't, apparently...

So, the answer for Bama is 3, then?

Hmmm...would've thought you had more.

Well, since Coach Bryant was at the Capstone for twenty five years, it should not be surprising. What is surprising is that Franchione, Shula and Dubose each had ten win seasons.
