the West is ridiculously stacked, with anyone having a more than legit shot to beat anybody else and even the top East teams will likely suffer some losses to their West opponents. We could easily see a scenario where a 3 loss team wins the SEC and a bunch of 2 loss non-conference champs get passed up.

I'm not saying I think this will happen but I think the chances are better than they have been the in awhile, the depth of talent around the league is getting to be ridiculous.

Honestly I think this gets said to some degree every year, but we keep putting a team in there(playoff or champ game)

It's possible but usually there's one team from SECW that's in the mix. Hopefully it's LSU but probably AUB or Bama

SEC champion should be an automatic qualifier. It's an unwritten rule, but I am pretty sure it is understood by the committee.

it does, but now the Mississippi schools are pulling better talent, plus now you have A&M in there who can beat a lot of teams, Arkansas looks on the upswing. There are 5 teams that have a legit shot at winning the West this year and while I wouldn't put Arky or State in that category, they can definitely beat you on any given day. I don't think that has been true in the past, when you've had a couple of schools you could count on to be god awful and one or two that were a cut above.

First time an SEC team is left out of a 4 team playoff, the following year there will be and 8 team playoff.

If the SEC Champion has like 2-3 losses and the other conference champs are undefeated/1 loss could easily happen.

If y'all don't win that game soon, you're going to end up being known as the Bills of the SEC. What did they do, maybe four AFC Championships in a row and No Super Bowl victories?

What if the SEC champion is 9-4?

There is a better chance of two SEC teams getting in than none at all.

Im like you and dont see anyone getting out of the SEC without 2 losses. Most likely TCU and The Ohio State are in. They cant leave TCU out again or can they? So that leaves the PAC 10, ACC AND SEC vying for the last 2 spots. Would they leave out an undefeated or 1 loss champion in those conferences to support a 2 loss SEC champion?

This becomes less likely every season.

Unless they're undefeated, I'm all for it. If they don't like it, get a CCG or schedule stronger opponents.

Several sec teams play a strong OOC opponent. This is critical and those teams would have a much better shot as a 2-3 loss SEC champ getting in
