It looks like something happended to Ole Miss last night, not sure what. Something about Tunsil in a Doomsday Prepper video and getting paid for footballin. I don't know. But there are one too many threads on them so I present this one as a breaker of monotony.

I love the guy as a coach. Seems very comfortable in his own shoes. Exudes confidence and has a sense of humor. To me he's gotta step it up in recruiting in order to take it to the next level. Not sure what's going on there. But as a pure coach I think he's awesome.

So what's your opinion? I know bad teeth and all but other than that.

Did he meet or exceed general expectations last year? Was our mild success prior to Grieroids as sign of things to come or a flash in the pan?

What to you expect going forward?

TIA for all of your polite and respectable answers!

Other than eating too much butter, he's a pretty good coach.

Jury still out on McElwain

Had some impressive wins, but struggled against some pretty bad teams. Vandy, FAU, Kentucky.

Getting hammered by Michigan doesn't help either

Treon "1/4 of the field" Harris will make any offense like what CJM runs falter, sputter, crash, burn, fail, struggle, bog down, be inefficient as frick, suck, blow, etc.

No. I said let's talk Jim McElwain. Not post pictures of animals that weigh less than Bret Beliema. Not sure how you misread the OP, but nevermind that. I look forward to your thoughts.

Pretty much this. Florida was a good team the first part of the season and a bad team the latter half of the season. While Treon was a large part of that problem, I don't think all the blame can be placed on him.

So the jury remains out on Mac.

I think the jury is still out on him, and no one can feel too confident one way or the other yet. I think I was like most people that were caught off guard and surprised how good Florida looked early, and thought maybe this guy was the real deal.

Then Grier got suspend and Florida sputtered the rest of the year and looked terrible. 2 points against Florida St. Struggled to win against our terrible team. Barely beat Vandy and Florida Atlantic. Made Michigan look like the Green Bay Packers. I would be incredibly distressed by the way the year ended if I was a Florida fan.

We all know QB can make all the difference in the world, but that drastic a regression off of one guy leaving is hard to explain. Maybe it was just Harris being that bad, but still a great coach should have been able to make some changes to scheme to make them more proficient. I don't know how anyone can really be sold one way or the other yet. This season will tell us a lot about him.

I'm a big fan of McElwain. I think he will do well at Florida. Think he will do great without a potato at qb.

Apparently not enough. Like I said his recruiting skills are lacking.

Let's see what he does without a roided QB. Jury is very much still out.

With a smart Qb we will be deadly. He has issues adjusting to his personale it seems he kept trying to use Treon like Grier, and it was obviously not working. Recruiting he seems to suck honestly.

Didnt know a qb on roids makes UT defenders fall all over themselves trying to make a tackle or kickers miss field goals.

Seems to be a good coach so far. He could be great. Way to early to tell though. I used to think Gus was a good coach too.

I'm not so worried about that just yet. I'd honestly be happy with a 9 win season this year where every game was either competitive or a blowout in our favor.

I don't suspect we'll be competing for a Natty this year, so just seeing a team that is good week to week and doesn't fall apart when one person goes down would be nice.

He did a lot better last year than I thought he would, and I think he has a lot of potential. But, I think to really know anything about him is going to take another season or two.

that's why the boosters had to step in at the last minute to take up the slack.
