Did Elliott not have the better game last week? I think LF is a great RB and have said as much. I don't care about the publicity. I will say without a doubt no one on here has watched Zeke play when he doesn't have the ball and how well he does everything in addition to being a top 3 guy running the ball

Elliot has 10 catches for 63 yards on the season. Fournette has 2 for 16 yards. Neither is very impressive and Fournette's numbers won't be. LSU doesn't feature RBs in the passing game hardly at all.

Elliot may be great in pass pro, but guess what, so is Fournette.

Edit: And yes I'm just poking fun at this point. you said 2015 LF is the best, and I said today he doesn't have the best recent performance.

If the season were only one game you'd have a point. Unfortunately, it's 5 games at this point (4 for Fournette).

That's not what I was saying. You continue to misread.

You attempted to restrict the time frame to a year-by-year basis. Buckeye took it a step further by restricting the time frame to a game-by-game basis.

Henry had two more yards than Chubb, but also had six more carries so Chubbs ypc was higher....this is why stats can be very misleading. What you don't see in that is that a majority of Chubbs yards was one one play.

No, I haven't. I'm just not talking about 2014. There's a difference.

I've explained the problem here -- level of competition -- it matters.

I'm going to say it one more time, in the context of this thread, I DON'T CARE WHAT ELLIOT DID LAST YEAR. He was a better RB then, but that season is over. I CARE ABOUT WHAT HE'S DONE THIS YEAR. He is not a better RB right now.

Also, their schedules for 2015 are very similar. Yet one has been vastly more successful than the other, to this point.

If we're talking about who wins the Heisman so far, sure give it to Fournette. I wouldn't debate that. Three 200+ yard games straight is impressive against anyone, even if it isn't Wisconsin, Bama, and Oregon.

If we're talking about who the better running back is, I think there's a debate. I know I wouldn't trade Zeke for Fournette, and I imagine most LSU fans feel the same about the opposite.

Maybe you should. Straight from the OP:

Yes, you have.

If you want to discuss a specific time frame, then start a thread and set up those parameters. I've already explained my issue with that.

There's this thing called the September Heisman. Denard Robinson was a master at winning it.

Let's allow things to play out. Fournette and Elliott both have stout defenses ahead in the schedule.

No, I haven't. Me saying what he did in 2014 wasn't impressive would be dismissing it. I never said that.

Last year doesn't matter to me, when discussing who is the better running back right now. Last year, Chubb, Elliot, Perine, and even Henry were all considered better than Fournette was.

Now, Fournette is considered, by almost everyone, to be the best in the land because of what's he's done this season. I'm sorry you can't grasp that the nature of sports is "what have you done for me lately", but that's just the way that it goes.

What I'm saying is that you are dismissing it from the discussion.

Last year doesn't matter to me

You have clearly established this, and I have responded multiple times as to why I have an issue with it. It's redundant at this point.

Elliot plays in a shitty conference against inferior opponents week in and week out.

Yeah, a shitty conference that had a winning bowl record last year. How did the PAC-12 do? And slaughtered by OSU? Southern Cal was t even in the conversation.

Who is "best" is all subjective.

There may be backs with better stats or unique attributes, but I prefer watching Bo Jackson's style over the style of a Ray Rice, DeMarco Murray, or Shady McCoy.

They all are effective, but, to me, Fournette's style is in the Bo Jackson mold and it's personally the most entertaining.

Was on the way home from school and I was listening to the Arkansas sports station when a caller tried to Argue that Jonathon Williams is better than Fournette. He said without LSU's offensive line Fournete would be a nobody. Surely even Arky fans can't be that delusional

Are you saying UGA’s defense is as good as Bama? God, you’re fricking retarded

While I agree, the main difference here is that Denard played for a losing football team which was magnified because he was a QB. I think LSU loses less games than his Michigan teams, and RB's are punished far less than QB's on that front anyway.
