Do you find it a bit slimy that major companies are paying coaches and others to put players where they want them?

This is not news to anybody who follows college sports........especially basketball.

ETA if you have never heard of Sonny Vaccaro, you should read up on him.

That you are shocked it was going on is the real news. Just so you know, it goes on in football also.

Major companies are paying coaches and others to promote products. They're paying universities to put certain clothes on these players. That genie left the bottle a long time ago. It's either burn everything to the ground or just accept that corporate sponsorship of public institutions and employees was inevitable. The NCAA is just a tool to try (and fail) to make the level of money's involvement equal across the board.

I'll be honest with you...I couldn't care less about college basketball anymore. Yeah, it would be nice if Bama started winning consistently, but if the whole thing burned down...including at Bama...I wouldn't lose a minute's sleep. CBB has been filthy for years.

Even if the NCAA starts letting schools pay athletes, which I hope they do, some schools will go above and beyond. There will always be cheating in sports. They even cheat at the pro level in every sport.

Yeah it's fricking sickening. I didn't see LSU named on the list btw. I thought all schools cheated? Yet it's always every other team in the SEC that gets caught doing it. So is LSU ahead of the game that much? I doubt it. You cheating bastards. LOL.

Yes and on the other side of it those companies are guiding players via their camps to coaches they know will be complicit in it.

What, exactly, is sickening? People becoming wealthier? Including the players?

To be clear, I think breaking the law and NCAA rules is unethical, but I don't see anything inherently wrong with people making money in exchange for using their talents.
