Patsy Cline is killed in plane accident.
Hitchcock releases special effects extravaganza "The Birds".
Yogoslavia names Tito President for life.
Zip Codes implemented in the US.
Kennedy is assasinated.
Martin Luther King delivers "I have a Dream "Speech.
The Beatles release their first album.
Cleopatra and To Kill a Mockingbird are box office winners.
Roy Orbison and Buddy Holly owned the charts.
Mr. Ed and Andy Griffith were the big tv shows.
Ole Miss won their last SEC football championship.

Bama is currently in the top 5 with a black quarterback. I wonder if it means anything with regards to OM and their black...er, seating section.

I am a self-loather loather.
Distant cousin of the dreaded close-talker.
And as this thread attests, I have a deep respect for history.
Especially mid-20th Century American history.
