Let's compare the stats of Jordan Jefferson and Brandon Harris in their first full years as starters.

Brandon Harris 2015
2165 yards
53.8 Completion %
13 TD/ 6 Int
130.6 QB Rating

Jordan Jefferson 2009
2166 Yards
61.5 Completion %
17 TD/ 7 INT
137 QB Rating

So lets look at JJ "improvement" in year 2 since they have comparable year one stats.

Jordan Jefferson 2010
1411 Yards
56.5 % Completion
7 TD/ 10 Int
114 QB Rating

Hmmmmm. What conclusions could you draw from this?

Lets look at some other examples of recent QB's in the SEC and their stats from years 1 and 2 as the starter.

Bo Wallace 2012
2994 Yards
63.9 % Completion
22 TD/ 17 Int
142 QB Rating

Bo Wallace 2013
3346 Yards
64.8 Completion %
18 TDs/10 Int
138.1 QBR

Bo Wallace 2014
3194 Yards
60.1 Completion %
22 TDs /14 Int
142.2 QBR

Bo essential was the same QB all 3 years. When his Int went down so did his TDs. Then they both went back up.

Lets Look at Jeff Driskel. The #1 QB in his class.

2012
1646 Yards
63.7 Completion %
12 TDs/ 5 Int
132 QBR

He even had 2 years to get ready for his next full year with meaningful reps.

2014
1140 Yards
53.8 Completion %
9 TDs/ 10 Int
103 QBR

I draw 2 conclusions.

1) Jordan Jefferson was better than Brandon Harris his first year as a starter.

2) It is far from a sure thing that a 2nd year starting QB will show decent growth. There is a lot of evidence to the theory that you are what you are. And that seems to be the case in the Les Miles offensive scheme over the years.

TLDR: Harris sucks. LSU will be above average and be in the same boat at Halloween as last year. 9-3 and can't fire Les.

What about Mettenberger's first year starting to his second year starting?

Year 1 vs. Year 2 as starters for some other SEC/LSU QBs

Brandon Harris (sophomore):
Year 1 - 149/277 - 53.8% - 2165 yards - 7.8 y/a - 13 TDs - 6 INTs - 130.6 QBR

Year 2 - ??????? TBD ???????

Dak Prescott (redshirt sophomore):
Year 1 - 156/267 - 58.4% - 1940 yards - 7.3 y/a - 10 TDs - 7 INTs - 126.6 QBR

Year 2 - 244/396 - 61.6% - 3449 yards - 8.7 y/a - 27 TDs - 11 INTs - 151.7 QBR

Zach Mettenberger (redshirt junior):
Year 1 - 207/352 - 58.8% - 2609 yards - 7.4 y/a – 12 TDs – 7 INTs - 128.3 QBR

Year 2 - 192/296 - 64.9% - 3082 yards - 10.4 y/a - 22 TDs - 8 INTs - 171.4 QBR

Jamarcus Russell (sophomore):
Year 1 - 188/311 - 60.5% - 2443 yards - 7.9 y/a – 15 TDs – 9 INTs - 136.6 QBR

Year 2 - 232/342 - 67.8% - 3129 yards - 9.1 y/a - 28 TDs - 8 INTs - 167.0 QBR

I'll post this in all of your stupid threads. More examples of QBs improving drastically from year 1 to year 2 under Les than the other way around.

So basically you're just lying.

Yea I'm scared for Les's safety when we walk out of a half empty tiger stadium up 30 points and taking a knee in LSU territory.

You are the one with the skewed stats. You are picking out the top 15% of SEC QB's. Every one of the guys you just pulled out were drafted.

There are 10 QBs that don't get drafted for every 1 that does in this conference.

I never said it wasn't possible.

The point I am making is it is FAR from a sure thing.

Ah the ole mercy knee. I remember when Ole Miss was up 50 at our house and took a knee in the redzone with 5 minutes left in the game and their backups in. Quite insulting.

Oh wait, that was us at your place.

Using Harris' full year stats isn't indicative of his level of play due to his sports hernia. While the pre-injury games weren't as difficult, there were good games against quality defenses like Florida. I think Harris will improve more than you will like. His short passes weren't good last year, but he is actually doing better with them this year. I think you will be sad face after our game =)

You're just as bad comparing Harris to fricking Brent Schaefer and rivers in your previous thread because they didn't improve. STTDB ANS GTFO

No, I'm just picking out LSU QBs under Les Miles and added Dak Prescott because their stats were so similar in year one.

So quite literally, the majority of QBs under Les Miles at LSU that have started full time for consecutive years have improved drastically from year 1 to year 2.

I just compared him to a QB that won 30 SEC games a another QB who was highly recruited and drafted. WTF are you talking about?

Or you found the except to the rule.

Lee didn't.
Jefferson didn't.
Jennings didn't.
