Lsu did not, and likely will not, reach out to Art Briles' agent.

Art Briles' agent's job is to push his client's name and get him opportunities. One way to do that is to have his name associated with big time jobs to create a sense of urgency somewhere (AU, maybe) and have a team bid against themselves. Nothing about LSU seems to indicate they'd go after Briles.

Agreed. I think Briles has to go the way of Lane Kiffen for a few years before becoming a HC again.

LSU is volatile and unpredictable. Most coaches probably don't want to touch them with a 39 and 1/2 foot pole. Briles will go anywhere right now. Perfect fit for LSU when they realize no one else will want the job.

If someone gave you a job application that said "Beat Saban in the next 4 years or you're fired" would you fill it out?

if someone gave you a job offer with $5-$6M annually, would you fill it out?

For the contract amount I would be getting, along with the resources, I would definitely take that chance.

Absolutely, then I'd try my hardest to get it done. If I didn't, I'd happily walk out the door with my $12 million+ in hand.

What kind of idiot question is this? No one wants the LSU job because Bama is so intimidating and Star Spangled Awesome? Gimme a break.

Briles would be great in the SEC, his defense would get destroyed.

Briles won't accept an OC position. He's been a head coach for like 30 years. He'll get another chance but I'm guessing it will be at Texas Tech in 2018 after Kingsbury gets shitcanned

Yes if I was unemployed and making $4 Million and LSU was my team.....Hell yes!
Briles really would not have competition for recruits in LA that he had at Baylor.
Perfect fit, I would hire that dude oh........TODAY!

Briles would be a giant pain in the butt to the rest of the SEC at LSU, thats why their AD just might hire him. But, would the SEC office block the hire?

Not every coach bends over and touches their toes for Saban like Sumlin does.

if you're a competitor and a winner, yes.

If you're a loser who wears khakis, probably not.
