…at one time or another has gained the respect of every fan on this board. He is quirky and different but he is a great person no matter what you have to say about him as a coach.

Katrina happened and Coach Miles was therefor the Tiger nation.

Alabama fans can admit it or not but for the last 10 years that has been our most feared opponent and greatest rivalry. The game has had huge implications almost every year.
He won a NC in 2007 which very few coaches can say they have ever done.

No matter what happened with the Michigan job opening he never wavered or gave any indication that he would leave baton Rouge…"I ham very proud of my Damn Strong Football Team" remember that?

I have no words for how he treated that young boy from birmingham, Sid Orits, that recently died with cancer and was a Tiger fan tip the end, even refusing to go to an Alabama practice when invited by Saban.

No matter what happens with Coach Miles I think everyone here can agree that he has always represented LSU with class, respect and honor by how he has acted and how he has run his program.

I think Tiger Nation may need to think about showing him the same respect he has shown all of you over the last decade.

Just my opinion.

I didn't read the whole thing because I have an Arkansas education, but I will agree Les is probably liked and respected by the majority of fans.

Show him respect and the door but let him go out a hero. Hopefully we beat the dogshit out of the aggies and he can retire with a quirky statement and a grin.

I like him and respect him but that's not going to win more football games.

I honestly feel bad that I am okay with him being fired if it happens. I can't watch the games lately because it's so bad, but it's still hard to think about firing such a nice guy. But for quite a few years now, the program has just not gone in the right direction. I don't think anyone can deny that he's done good things and is respected.

I love the guy, but like and respect don't win ball games.

I didn't mention one word about keeping him. I merely stated facts. Whether you keep him or not there is a right way and a wrong way to act as a fan when someone has done that much for your University. Miles is a class act and that is all I am saying. If it is time for him to go then that is for others to decide but there is a way to end it without bashing the guy. Take it from a Bama fan that has seen bricks thrown through coaches windows, how you handle yourself reflects on your school and we should know better than any school what its like to look like shite in front of the rest of the country.

It's crazy how rational and objective the other fanbases are when they're not emotionally invested in LSU's coaching issues.

There's nothing rational about what you're saying.

I love the guy and am immensely grateful for what he did.

But look at the team right now man.

If you can't see something is wrong I don't know what to say.

We NEVER have a QB.

We hired a TERRIBLE DC.

We can't get a play in after a timeout.

Just because he has been great doesn't mean he gets a permanent contract for life.

Some are saying he needs to hire a new OC with a different philosophy.

That will NEVER happen, the guy is stubborn as all hell, he is going to play football his way or the highway.

Sometimes its just time to move on, and I think this may be the case.

You'd have to be on drugs to think there's any chance Les gets us back to where we want to be?

If you think LSU fans are just going to "accept" 4-5 losses a year you can just exhale because that's never going to happen

He is one of the true Good guys in the profession. Bama fans were generally the first to really give him his respect, because they knew how lucky we were to see two teams at that rare level. I'm sad that's all a thing of the past.

They do, they just want it to continue to degrade until it's too late for the next guy to quickly fix it

Yep, agree with the sentiments. I just think his time has come and gone as LSU's coach, and I wish him well and no hard feelings at all. Never know... he may have one more year, but there's so much flying around that this is his last year. We'll see.
