I know it's not college or SEC, but look at Andy Reid. Say what you want about a disparity in talent between the Eagles and Chiefs, but sometimes it just takes a change of scenery to be a breath of fresh air. It may work in marriage when that old married couple gets into their safe, happy routine, but in the world of college football, that routine gets you passed by while other programs evolve.

y'all wish...... Tenn will never be LSU! LSU isn't going anywhere folks regardless if we have Les or the next great coach to come thru! Saban and Les had proved LSU to be one of the premier places to coach, lots of dough and great recruits year in and out within the State. Tenn doesn't have that, also THE fact that we have no instate rival to compete with...... LSU will always be a desirable place for a coach to become a legend. Sorry but LSU is here to stay!!! Bummer for some but not me

If Les Miles becomes Fulmer, can we at least have Jr. and his wife convert to LSU fans? I love that beautiful couple.

I love it. After 9 years and winning 80% of his games, Miles still has opposing fans fantasizing about an eventual downfall.
It probably will happen at some point (it happens to everyone), at which point, critics will say, "I told you so! I knew Miles would eventually fail!!!"
I have never seen a coach win 80% of his games over 9 years in the SEC, win 3 division championships, have 4 top 5 finishes, win 2 SEC titles, win 1 national championship and play for another and reel in consistent top 10 recruiting classes and be called a horrible coach by almost everyone.
If Les Miles is horrible, then I hope LSU has horrible coaches just like him for the rest of my life.

LSU will always attract the best coaches..... It's going to come down to timing and I believe Les will win one more championship and leave on his own so I really believe he won't have a downfall at all. Recruiting looks strong next year and very good possibility even stronger than this year? We have another ship coming in 2015, 16, or 17 mayb 2 of those depending on certain things. Our D is being built again and we now have a slew of QBs with more coming, Dline and Oline needs to stay strong and we keep QB depth. If LSU can do that then we will always be in contention. LSU isn't going anywhere period. We going to make the SEC

People have been saying Larry Coker/Phil Fulmer in regards to Les Miles for years, and the Tigers still churn out 9-11 wins a year.
You'll see these threads and more of the idiotic "decline" threads every year until Miles is gone, and he'll still be churning out very good football teams.

Why are Ole Miss fans obsessed with LSU? That is what I find funny. OM plays LSU every year as if it's their version of the NC and LSU finds it hard to even get motivated for the game due to the opponent.
As for a decline - at least LSU has ascended to a point at which a decline is even a possibility. Work on making it to the SECCG

In his first 9 seasons, Fulmer won over 80% of his games, won 3 division championships, had 3 top 5 finishes, won 2 SEC titles and won 1 national championship. He didn't become a horrible coach until around year 12 or 13, when he became complacent.

Miles is 95-24 after 9 seasons at LSU (79.83%). In his first 9 seasons as head coach at UT, Fulmer was 91-19 (82.72%). So, you are right. Fulmer was actually better than Miles in his first 9 seasons.
