Leonard Fournette is overrated, and if you look at stats you can see why.
In games vs top 50 defenses (AL, FLA, MISS, ARK).. Fournette had 442 yards (110.5 avg) which isn't that bad.
only 22.6% of his total season yards were against top 50 defenses.
Now lets look on the other side of the spectrum...
The two worse rushing defenses last season in ALL OF COLLEGE FOOTBALL were Texas Tech and Eastern Michigan. LSU played both.
In those two games fournette had a combined 449 yards.. this accounts for 23% of his TOTAL YARDAGE. Amazing right?
Lets look at some other games shall we:
81st Auburn - 228
78th Syracuse - 244
59th WKU - 150
70th MSST - 159
107th TAMU - 159
109th south carolina - 158
Total yards- 1078..... 55.2% of total yardage.
lets compare Derrick Henry vs common opponents
Henry 4NET
MSST 204 159
ARK 95 91
FLA 189 180
AUB 271 228
MISS 127 108
TAMU 236 159
1122 925
Henry had more yards against EVERY common opponent.
197 yards difference.
You can decide for yourself, and i'm sure the LSU faithful will be butt-hurt. But they need to face the facts.
Fournette is NOT the best running back in college football and he never will be. He will never win the Heisman trophy.. and probably will never even be invited.
Don't get me wrong.. Fournette is GOOD.. but he is not GREAT. Stats prove this.

This bothers you more than it should. why are you worried about one player on a team that your favorite team has beaten 5 times in a row?

Salty. And you really have no reason to be salty

We will find out this year. I would love to see what Fournette could be with a good QB.

Alabama could throw the football. Lsu had zero pass game the second half of the year or he would have run for 2500 yards.

You used your alter to tell used Fournette isn't as good as the the heisman trophy winner from last year? Odd

No. Fournette is great but the system he runs in, given the modern era, actually holds him back a bit.
If LSU backs people off with a solid play action game then Fournette runs wild.
He is a tremendous running back. However, in the SEC, you can't just line up and call your plays when everyone knows what you are going to call.
The days of a Nebraska taking pride in letting the defense know exactly what play they were going to run in the sure and certain knowledge they could not stop it is gone.
