Won the 92 title. Jay Barker.
Once he started he was the starter not a fill in for an injury.

I wish. Nobody is smoking Bama though. They might win. Doubt it, but they might. Smoking Bama ain't on the menu though this season.

Beat maybe, smoke... not a chance.

It is certainly strength on strength with a great USC OL, good RBs, and one of/if not the best WRs in the country going against a salty Bama D who will be a nightmare for any QB, especially a new one.

LOL - he was the best clipboard holder for Chase Daniel too. Gritty, smart, natural leader type.

You're a shitty poster. Jay Barker was in his third year at Alabama before he got a start (redshirt sophomore).

Vince Sutton was the last freshman to start at Alabama.

Who was the last true freshman QB to start any game?

Avalos started that Southern Miss game as a RS-Freshman. AJ and JPW started as Sophomores. I guess Phillip Sims might have technically started a game or two as a RS Freshman in 2011.

USC isn't going to beat Alabama much less smoke them. As much as I hate it Saban always has his team's ready to roll in game 1.

As a Redshirt Freshman. He was a true freshman in 1990. RS FR 1991, RS SO 1992, RS JR 1993, RS SR 1994.

Here's a bit of advice. If you're going to call out George, you better know your stuff.

I forgot the Woodson suspension. Regardless, he was in his second full season with the team. Redshirt freshman =/= freshman, dumbass.

AFAIK, the last actual freshman to start a game was Vince Sutton.

Was it the Vanderbilt game in '84?
