Like I said before the "recant" happened:

quote:
Funny thing is: They live in a state where it is the cop's fault for arresting him or the girl's fault for pissing him off. "This is Alabama Football, dammit. Everyone in this state should know their role when it comes to our beloved team. Our players are above the law and our football prowess is a God-given gift. So don't get in the way of that and you can avoid exile to Mississippi ".

This is just as retroactive as their 26 nashnul championships in the last 25 years. They deem the fact that they get two 'cause they beat Notre Dame so bad.

After Fran left for Texas A&M, Alabama hired Mike Price from Washington State. During the offseason before he even coached a game, Price ended up in Pensacola, Florida at Arety's Angels (I'm like 95% sure that was the strip joint). He took a stripper to his hotel room and she charged a bunch of room service that was paid for with Price's credit card from the University of Alabama.

The story broke with reports of some of the quotes from the night. At one point the stripper Destiny yells "Roll Tide Roll!" to which Price allegedly responded "It's rolling baby, it's rolling."

Price was fired before ever coaching a game and Mike Shula was hired. One of the more entertaining episodes in SEC lore.

If not for Destiny we may never have gotten Saban. She is a hero in my book

Funny how things end up working out. You never know when a stripper is going to bring your program back from the ashes of 6-6.

I never saw any Bama fans defending him in light of the allegations. Domestic violence is pretty fricking uncool, and this hasty characterization of everyone that pulls for a fricking football team as some broad mass of convenience-based morality benders is ridiculous and irresponsible.

Rich Rod's wife should be your hero. She said hell no to living in Alabama before Saban took the job.

Good try: Not buying it, though. The fans' blogging campaign won't erase what you hear in person.

Things that Bama fans write that are permanently attached to their names are well thought out. They even try to sound really, really smart (like your post!).

But the off the cuff remarks made in the hours after the incident makes it to the press?......there is your true, collective despise for someone whom pissed this guy off enough for him to hit her.....even though she will now recant on her "own".

Dude: save the written or campaign for a battle you could actually win, one day.

If you ever run into me at a bar, you'll get nothing different. By the way, don't you think if you were right about people's true feelings it would be the other way around, and the anonymity provided to them in a forum such as this one would make them a lot worse?

What you're buying is irrelevant. When someone posts an outrageous straw man like this gem:
quote:

This is just as retroactive as their 26 nashnul championships in the last 25 years. They deem the fact that they get two 'cause they beat Notre Dame so bad.

...nobody with any sense at all will take him seriously. Spew on, my friend.

Good Times...

The woman, who declined comment when asked if she was
paid for the evening, said that the threesome engaged "in some pretty aggressive sex." She said that at one point she and her female companion decided to add a little levity to the activity:
"We started screaming 'Roll Tide!' and he was yelling back, 'It's rolling, baby, it's rolling.'"

By the time the SEC rumor mill began to grind, Price's hopes of becoming "the second greatest coach in Alabama history," as he put it at the time of his hiring, were starting to fade.

According to a source close to the athletic department, Price had already been chastised twice by athletic director Mal Moore for spending time buying drinks for students and "generally serving as the life of the party in too many bars."

just ain't getting the badness of all this. not a sunshine pumper either.
a player was kicked off the team. ok.
a player was kicked off the team. ok.
a player was picked up for DUI. ok.

one of these has never played in a game.
one of these played sparingly as RB.
one of these could possibly be a starting safety.

it's april. will any of this matter in five months?

Those were good times in the state of Alabama. You couldn't find a single person wearing a knockoff Atlanta Braves shirt/hat/car sticker in the entire state. The bandwagoners were screaming War Eagle!

Then in 2008, the stench of mothballs from clothes not worn in years filled the air. And the Updykes have never been crazier from the years of oppression that they suffered, because Bama football is all they have to feel good about.

Good try; however, spitting out claims that are limited to "I heard this with no one else around" demonstrate a pathetic level of bias on your part.

If this is our worst week in over a decade, it sounds like things have been pretty great in Tuscaloosa.

Getting rid of him worked out pretty good for us.
