Seems odd to stop at just the Sweet Sixteen. Better metric would be Final Four or actual National Championship.

SEC man, once you bring home the hardware, you own it for eternity as does the rest of the SEC family. If you got a MNC (a realistic one), a CWS (appearance or win), or MBB NCAA Championship (or at least a Final Four) then it adds to the whole conference and the team that wins it all gets something for their trophy case.
