I know most of you will think that I'm crazy/stupid/on crack for saying this, but I have never been more proud of a football team that got it's butt kicked than last night. Our defense was woefully undersized against that Texas offense (and obviously will be against most of the rest of the teams they play this year). This Ole Miss team could have quit at numerous points last night as they had under Hootie the past two years, but they never quit.

We are playing so many freshman, sophomores, and first year JUCO transfers right now it is ridiculous. This will pay off going forward, though. Hugh has this team pointed in the right direction. We had a team with numerous malcontents and troublemakers over the past few years. This team is different. Hell, Hugh looks like he even has Jeff Scott's head screwed on right. Freeze will continue to recruit well, and I think this team is on the right path. We just have to remember how deep in the woods HDN left us and how long of a hike it will be to get out of it.

I actually agree. Young QB made some bad decisions that put to much pressure on you defense. But he looks like he will be a good one. Your defense is weak though. I will say this I was not that impressed with the Texas defense they gave up numerous big plays.

I can certainly Kige this. Definitely no quit in the team and I told my cousin (who is a big Ole Miss fan) that Freeze was a good hire. Anybody that could bring Arky State to a Bowl game and have them give Va Tech a heck of a game last year in Blacksburg can flat out coach. As I always said the SEC is only as strong as our weakest link so it doesnt bothr me that Ole Miss will be a better team.

I watched that game, I'll be honest when you guys were down I was wondering if you could have the biggest loss margin of the day to make me feel better lol. The difference is your team didn't quit no matter how bad it got. Your crowd state for awhile too.

Hey, I was amazed. They never gave up and kept on fightin. If they could have stopped some of those rally killin big pass plays they would have had a much better chance.

i only watched the first half, but i thought the same thing. OM seemed to be doing some fundamental things well, but you could tell that UTx had more experienced talent.

I knew you guys had us overmatched on talent and size coming into the game, but I was hoping Ash would make some mistakes. He made none. He is a much better QB than I gave him credit for. Also, I'm not sure who #84 is for you guys, but it should be illegal to be that fast.

I agree with your post. Even though you lost the game Ole Miss fans should be happy about what they've seen so far. At least the team competed and fought for 4 quarters, you couldn't say that about the Rebels last season. Freeze has your program going in the right direction, no doubt.

I'll admit even after 66 points were scored the defense was fighting to keep them out.

But I did laugh pretty hard when you could hear a girl in the stands yelling "STOP HIM! STOP HIM!" on the broadcast after they had given up 66 points already.

Some of our fans don't quit, either. I believe I was similarly yelling at the television.

You know what pissed me off about that game? Texas will brag about beating a SEC team.

I was quite pumped when we made that stop at the goal line.

Agree. I enjoyed watching the game in spite of the lopsided score. 31 points by an over matched team is pretty darn good.
