So you say that Kirby will have big success and it will go down hill from there. And for you, big success is winning the SEC championship.

Here is where your logic doesn't make any sense. When do you expect him to win an SEC championship? Certainly not year one. Most likely not year 2. So let's say he wins the SEC in year 3. You're telling me that UGA would fire him in year 4 one year after he wins the SEC Championship (which probably means he made it to the playoffs)? At that point, the only way he's fired is if he crashes his motorcycle while riding with his mistress that works in the football department.

Nobody knows how he will do of course, but He seems kind of off to me. Can't quite put my finger on it, but it would not surprise me at all to see him struggle quite a bit.

I know he's recruiting well, but he's a hyped up new coach at Georgia. What coach wouldn't recruit well in that situation?

He will flame out like Muschamp.

In all honesty, seeing what happened to Muschamp at Florida does make me a bit nervous. UGA does have the talent to win 10 games year in and year out, but so did Florida.

Well, even most failed coaches get 3-4 years... as long as he doesn't 0-8 it he will make it to 5.

Fours years. That's all he will last at UGA.

Replace UGA with Auburn and you have the direction Gus is headed.

Which is a mystery to me. Even Muschamp recruited well while he was there. You'd think McElwain would at least have a top-10 recruiting classes, especially winning the SECE last year.

I don't think McElwain came in with as much hype, and while Florida is a very good school to recruit at I think Georgia is better.

And there is the possibility that he just sucks.

Lol, you're spot on. I doubt Gus Bus survives this year, his 4th year as head coach.

I'm not sure how McElwain came in with less hype. He was also SEC COY last year.

Despite that, his top rated commit is ranked #25 in Florida.

My point is that it's not that easy.

What is his philosophy and how is it unproven?

Seems like he'll take what he learned from Saban and add a badass QB.

Talent is not a problem at UGA...never has been. UGA is always in or near the top 3 in the SEC as far as recruiting goes.

The state of GA is a fertile a football state as anywhere else in this country with little to no in-state competition (GT Sucks).

Let us please try and give the Defensive Coordinator from a very good Alabama coaching squad the benefit of the doubt.

And those who are saying he will be a bust....who the frick should we have hired? I mean everyone told us to fire Mark Richt and when UGA finally does and replaces him with a very known commodity with ace recruiting ability, fresh of a National Title, all of sudden he is a bust?

Is GA cursed? Is that what some of you are getting at?

Let the man have a few seasons before we start this trash arse topic.

I knew this would happen. People were going to act like a dog who finally caught it's tail. Finally fired Richt.....oh shite, now what?!

I think Kirby will do great things.

Exactly. You don't spend that long with a single person and not have them rub off on you. And we've already seen some bama-esqe philosophies that Kirby brought over. Many UGA don't like that, but it is what it is. He spent 9 years with the guy.

I take any opportunity to stick it to Auburn, too.
