Kirby Smart. What kind of offense is he going to run at UGA?

I heard different takes on the question.
I've heard a spread and pro style. Does anyone know?

He will likely try to run something similar to what Saban has run at Alabama, which is actually fairly hard to define. It is a pro-style base but it is actually very multiple in its looks, including spread components, and it will be adapted to the QB and other personnel as needed. He will probably talk about balance a lot too.

He said today that he doesn't like defining an offense to being just Pro-Style or just Spread. He said he wants to be able to throw downfield and that he plans to recruit the best skill players and get the ball in their hands as much as possible.

they are just going to punt when they get the ball and play more defense... I hear defense wins ball games anyway

Seems like everyone's returning to a pro-style offense. Alabama, Arkansas, LSU, Florida, Georgia and Odom will run it some at Missouri now.

Who else?

Are these teams returning to the pro-style offense?
And with Missouri, that's half of the SEC.

Alabama - check

Arkansas - check

LSU - check

Florida - check

Georgia - Smart contacted our OC about the job and appears to be interested in running some pro-style.

Missouri - I can't remember his exact statement, but I think Odom indicated that he wants to run an uptempo pro-style offense of some sort.

They'll all likely mix in a little spread and continue the evolution of the modern offense.

Like your style today.

Almost verbatim from the presser today. While I think largely the presser was non-committal (learned from the best) given no official staffing hires yet, I think this is spot on what he's looking to install (and what I'd hoped we were planning on after losing Bobo, though we saw how that worked out).

Bama, UGA, and LSU have been under Pro Style coaches for a while now. Ark has been since Bielema came back. Florida is the only one "returning" to the pro style, since Urban ran a version of the spread and Boom didn't run an offense so much as he had eleven guys and said, "go forward, if possible." So yeah, they're returning to the pro style under Mac.
