Lane Kiffin Leaves When Nick Saban Says He Can Leave

I don’t think Lane Kiffin is going anywhere. He is loyal to Nick Saban, because Nick Saban gave him a shot when nobody else would.

Every college football program from time to time needs a reality check, even No. 1 Alabama. And I have a news flash for the college football world – Lane Kiffin isn’t the end all/be all when it comes to offensive coordinators.

I’m not taking anything away from Lane Kiffin. He is a brilliant offensive mind, but without Nick Saban micro-managing him he’s pedestrian at best.

Ran across this morning, made me smile.

There is no such thing as loyalty in CFB. It's business.

What? I agree that Saban gave him a great opportunity to gain a lot of the respect he had lost but he would have definitely got another shot. He is fairly young.

I think a Saban Kiffin mix is the perfect storm.

If Saban got everything he wanted, he'd be too conservative.

If Kiffin got everything he wanted, they would be too pass happy and not run the ball when they need to.

They're a good balance to each other

no one else would? he went from being a HC at USC to taking an OC job at Alabama. I don't exactly call that slumming, and highly doubt he would have been jobless otherwise

The writer is simply trying to convince himself that losing one of the nation's best offensive coordinators isn't too big of a deal. Since when has Saban been dubbed as some sort of offensive genius?

What does a bandwagon Alabama fan know about loyalty?

I don't know, I'll ask one for you. Here is what everybody but LSU fans know. An oc job at Bama > than an oc job at LSU. And it isn't even close.

How many other job offers did he have when he accepted the OC position at Alabama?

I hope he goes honestly. This will be the train wreck that sends LSU, or whoever else gets him, back to where they always were.

It has been all that Saban could do to keep this joker on the straight and narrow and he still got out of his cafge every now and then.

Orgeron has ALWAYS worked for Kiffin. How much do you think Kiffin is going to listen to him? In fact, he'll flat out buck Orgeron when he wants to. O won't have the leash on Kiffin and Kiffin will not hesitate to take advantage. There will be a huge division in the coaching staff, Orgeron will be bucked by Kiffin, other coaches will see it and lose respect for Orgeron and they will start doing their own things.

This is an epic train wreck waiting to happen. LSU has showed everyone how you totally screw up a coaching staff.

Yes sir, which started a few riots on campus, as I recall. One and the same.
