To each his own. It endears him to his current fans but it also costs him jobs. Hard to take him seriously, and harder still to give him the keys to a program worth a ton of money.

You mean when he was winning sec titles at UF? Uh he already had a high profile job. I doubt kiffin meant that as a jab to Tennessee as opposed to just coach speak, but if he did then it's a hell of a lot different than spurrier saying it.

Spurrier had his reputation long before getting to UF. People knew about his antics when he was in the USFL and so forth.

Still, he won right? Wasn't coming off an assistant gig after getting fired or bailing from his only other HC jobs.

Spurrier lasted one year as an assistant at UF. His pro career was less than stellar. If you're not willing to believe me just go read his bio. Life wasn't always rosy for ole shiny britches.
