He is a good play caller,don't get me wrong, but I sure wish he would forget the jet sweep, at least against fast defenses. Rarely works and seems to be a waste of a down.

Yeah, frick that jet sweep. It only works when the defense doesn't know what the hell Alabama is gonna do because they've had so much success throughout the game.

The early jet sweeps affect eyes and width of the safeties and linebackers which allows the offense to gash the opponent up the middle in the 2nd half.

a lot of times one play is to set up something else later in the game

It's really more of a constraint play. Forces the D to honor it. He ran a counter off that look to Henry quite a bit last year.

Even faking it s.l.o.w.s t.h.e p.l.a.y d.o.w.n and allows penetration. How many times have we run shotgun action (which I hate) and the TB gets stuffed after the QB fakes the jet? It just takes too long.
