BREAKING: Vanderbilt's Kevin Stallings has emerged as a serious candidate for the head coaching vacancy at Pitt, sources told @CBSSports.

Whoa... As much as Stallings has underachieved at Vandy, this would be a big loss for the SEC in Basketball overall...

Good. I'm more than happy to see his 5 shooters on the floor philosophy go away from the SEC

Does he have any ties to them or the area? Seems like an odd fit.

He was at Purdue and KU as an assistant before ILS.

I think he was Juco at Bellevue also.

Where's the Pitt AD from?

Stallings was hired at Vanderbilt by Todd Turner, the leader of Pitt's search. Stallings is also very invested in his son's minor league baseball career, and his son is a member of the Pirates' organization.

Either way, it sounds like Stallings' name is popping up all over the place for coaching vacancies elsewhere. Seems like he's looking to flee Nashville...

He's clearly been given an opportunity to find himself a new job rather than be fired after 17 years and the buyout needs to be negotiated. Fleeing is an odd way to put it. I don't know a single displeased Vanderbilt fan.

Stallings is a terrible coach. Vandy is a better job than a lot of people (maybe even Vandy) understand. They should be able to do way better.
