Kentucky vs MSU talk!

While most don't appreciate this cross-division rivalry, it is the most even of all with 21 wins apiece for each team.
There are very few blowouts in the series, particularly over the last 10 years. And while the Miss State score from last year looks good (14pt win), 7 of those came at the end of the game, on an onside kick returned for a TD.
Kentucky played a heck of a game last year in Lexington, and Towles looks legit this year as well.
Here's to another good game Kentucky fans!
I'm really glad this one is in Starkvegas.
Kentucky folks, how do you see the matchup?

No expectations from me, not after the Auburn game. MSU is favored by 11, I think it will be closer than that.

I was confident UK would end the MSU streak until the Auburn game. The Cats just don't have it this year.
I think we're evenly matched but the Dawgs have the better coach. That will be the difference, I think. Dawgs by 10.

I think I speak for most of the UK fan base when I say: thank God basketball season is here. With the egg the Cats dropped against Auburn, it's hard to be very enthusiastic in this game. If the Cats win, it could lead to 7-8 wins and a nice season. Hope that happens but hoops and recruiting are the main focus. The No 1 point guard in 2016 is announcing later this week...

Yep. Our offensive line can't buy Towles enough time to do anything.

Yeah the line seems quite high, though I haven't watched much of Kty this year aside from the Auburn game.
Your (the Kentucky) receivers dropped an awful lot of passes in that game, is that a recurring theme this year?

Every game UK has played this year has been close, and I think this one will be to. Don't see us beating MSU on the road, but I hope our defense plays better in the 1st half than it did last week, and we are in it at the end.
Should be a lot of fun.

Yeah it's been a theme in big game. They develop butterfingers.

8titties,
Is there always a drop off of interest in football once basketball season starts? Do you think this effects the football team at all?

While I'm a huge UK basketball fan, I'm a football first fan. I think this can still be a special season by UK standards. Our 2 losses were games we should have won, and had changes to.
Do I think we beat MSU on the road, not likely, but I look at the rest of our schedule and think we can win every game. We can also lose most every game too. That's what makes it fun.

If they are meeting the fan base's expectations then no. However, the loss to Auburn was tough. Many fans thought we should have won the game and think the coaching staff and team choked. A win over MSU would switch focus back to football but it won't happen unless we see that. Otherwise, the Duke game in mid-November and recruiting will be the most important event to the majority. Not saying I agree with this, but it is what it is.

UK fans don't stop caring about football once basketball starts up. A lot of us love football and basketball equally. UK fans care more for football than most, if not all the other SEC schools care about basketball.
The rest of our games will be sold out.

If it is any consolation, our MSU defense likes spotting teams 14 pts to start the game and then try to come back.
I'm hoping you drop those passes :D
It does look like Stoops has you going in the right direction though.

Kentucky is going to put it all together at some point this year and with the few extra days to heal this week is probably the week. The 11 points are a gift, take the Cats outright

It's a total crap shoot. The offense might go off for 5 TDs tomorrow, and the defense no shows just as easily as the defense allows only a FG but the offense can't get across the 50. No idea which team will show up Saturday.
