Watched Kyle Allen at the Army game....and he was very impressive throwing the football.

However, Kenny Hill is supposedly in the mold of Manziel (not as good...but fits that style of play)

Hill is a great athlete but he is more by the book than JFF. He also doesn't have nearly the quickness or ability to change direction that Manziel had. Whoever it is you will see us throwing from the pocket a whole lot more next year

It will probably be like 2012, in which the starter isn't determined until 2 weeks prior to the start of the season.

It may also be like 2012, in that the one who plays better in the spring DOES NOT get the start.

Showers played better than Manziel in the spring?

Interesting enough....Jacob Coker outplayed Jameis Winston in the fall. (Really hoping he doesnt go to Bama)

Yeah, all reports out of practice were that Showers was better. Manziel was running structured drills and trying to stay true to the offense, so he wasn't showcasing the improv and athleticism. I believe Kingsbury said something along the lines of "we had no idea what we truly had until he got out on the field vs Florida". Go back and watch his first game sometime, he looks completely different in that game

Sounds similar to Cam at Auburn. No one knew he could run like he could till the 1st game.

yeah it's really hard to simulate that in practice because the coaches generally blow the play dead if a defender gets anywhere near the QB

Who do the fans want? I was impressed with Allen but have heard a bunch about Hill. I saw Hill has decided to give up baseball as well. That's interesting.

Whoever gives us the best shot at winning. Given 2012, I trust in the coaching staff to make the right choice.

Kenny Hill has performed well when he played this year in my opinion.

Whoever is better. The other will probably transfer I'd guess.

If Hill wins the starting job, Allen will RS...not transfer.

I trust Sumlin to do 2 things:
1) Start the best player (proved this by choosing Manziel over the clear favorite Jamiel Showers).
2) Mold the offense to best suit that players skill set (Sumlin has run elite offense with Sam Bradford, Keenum, and Manziel....all very different QBs).
