Saw where he was working out at pro day but didn't expect him to be signed.

Kieras signed with the Kansas City Chiefs on Friday about a month prior to the NFL draft. Since Kieras didn't play college football, he's not required to enter the league through the draft. The Lithuania native didn't see his first football game until he arrived at Mississippi State in 2014.

“People love football here. I fell in love with it, too,” Kieras said. “It’s different. I never liked soccer. I’m from Europe. They’re going to hang me for that, but it’s fun and it’s contact. I love it.”

Kieras participated in Mississippi State's pro day earlier this month after setting a school record in the discus. He impressed NFL scouts from 30 teams with his athleticism.

He measured 6-3, 271 pounds and ran a 4.69 in the 40-yard dash. He had a vertical jump of 35 inches and a broad jump of 9 feet, 8 inches.

Mississippi State professor Gary Templeton convinced Kieras to give football a chance. A workout tape was sent to an agent in Las Vegas and the agency liked what they saw.

The NFL agreed.

Good luck to the kid.

I read about how much of a freak athletically he is. I also read that he is coachable.

Ha that would be the most Mississippi State thing ever. To Dan's credit though they mentioned him trying out for the team last year but he wasn't interested.

Will end up being the most successful athlete from MSU in 2016 draft or free agent signing.
* Before you MSU guys jump me, I said that in jist. At the same time, can you imagine Mullen kicking himself if he ends up being a legit pass rusher

watched him at pro day and while he did put up great numbers, he didn't look that great in position drills.

it's a good story, but I will be surprised if he actually makes the team
